Don spent his formative years in Swift Current, Saskatchewan where he was influenced and nurtured in a strong Christian home. After graduating from High School, he enrolled in the University of Saskatchewan and completed a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree majoring in economics. It was while at university that he married Bev, his childhood sweetheart. Upon graduating from university, he was employed for two years as an economist with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in Lesotho, Africa. Upon returning to Canada, he attended the Canadian Theological Seminary in Regina (now Ambrose University) where he completed a Masters of Divinity degree. For the next 23 years, he and Bev had the joy of serving three different Alliance churches in Alberta. They have six children and 13 precious grandchildren. After completing a Doctor of Ministry degree in 2003, Don accepted a call to serve at the district level as a Church Effectiveness Coach until his retirement in 2019.
Don & Bev have lived in Cochrane for a total of 20 years. The first 11 years (1994 – 2005) Don served Cochrane Alliance Church as lead pastor. Then, after eight years in Calgary, they returned to Cochrane in 2013. Don enjoys retirement and the freedom it affords to serve God in a variety of ways. Both Don & Bev enjoy travel, family and friends.
